Reports and tourist tax
Under Reports you see what your places earned, what they cost and how much tourist tax you need to declare.
Overview
Pick a month or a year. You see revenue, nights sold, occupancy, average daily rate, expenses and net, per property and per channel, and the revenue of the last 12 months.
Revenue is the booking amount spread over its nights, so a stay across two months counts in both. Closed nights are not available nights. Forints and euros are kept apart.
Good to know: Every report downloads as CSV that opens in Excel.
Expenses
- 1On the Expenses tab, click New expense.
- 2Enter the date, the category (cleaning, laundry, utilities, commission, maintenance, supplies, taxes, other), the amount and the property. Leave costs that belong to no single property as Shared cost.
Tourist tax
- 1On each apartment's Settings tab, enter the settlement (in Budapest, the district), the parcel number, how the tax is charged (HUF per guest per night or a percentage of the room fee) and the rate from the local tax decree. A forint rate cannot exceed the legal maximum (834.3 HUF in 2026).
- 2Stayfellow counts under-18s night by night from the guest details, so a guest who turns 18 during the stay is taxed from the birthday on. Enter local residents and other exemptions on the booking's page, one line each as on the return; you can note the type and number of the proof too.
- 3On the Tourist tax tab, choose the month. For each apartment you see the lines of the return sheet: all guest nights, nights of local residents, exempt and taxable guest nights, and the tax due. Only nights actually spent count: record an early check-out, and cancel a booking when the guest never came.
- 4File the return on the municipality's e-government portal (ASP, e-önkormányzat) and pay the tax by the 15th of the following month, or the next working day when that is a day off. You can save the municipality's account number per settlement. The report prints and downloads as CSV.
Good to know: On the morning of the 5th of every month, owners and managers also get last month's report by email.
Tourism development contribution
- 1You file and pay 4% of your room fees without VAT as the tourism development contribution, also as a VAT-exempt (AAM) host.
- 2On the Tourism contribution tab, set how often you file a VAT return: monthly, quarterly, yearly, or, without one (AAM), yearly by 25 February.
- 3A booking belongs to the period of its guest invoice's performance date, or of its departure day without an invoice. Mandatory breakfast and other services can be taken out of the base in the booking's tourist tax section.
- 4File the TFEJLH return on NAV's ONYA or ÁNYK and pay by the 20th of the month after the period, or by 25 February of the next year without a VAT return.
Good to know: If Airbnb or Booking.com commission makes you file a VAT return for a month, the contribution goes on that month too. Stayfellow does not work this out for you; ask your accountant.
